Location based meaning for countries having multiple time zone (much like the USA or Australia), it’s best to retweet your status with the intent of reaching a certain time zone or area.

Keep your Tweets longer than one word

What About the About Us Page?

Hi everyone!

One of the most neglected and probably unnoticed but a great show window to your site is the about us page.

about us logoOkay before you go off and start editing what you have scribbled down there, let me give you some excellent pointers on how to structure your about us page.

So without further ado, let’s start the ball rolling.

Here it is:

The about us page

State the Facts

just the facts imageTo avoid sounding like you actually are bragging, offer a straightforward description of your achievements, skills and probably even endorsements. Don’t forget to add awards and past successes.

What usually happens is that some people tend to overdo or hype up their about us page. This might actually put off readers especially those discerning and tenured ones.

Ease off on the “gas” and just state the facts as they are. Avoid too much sugarcoating or window dressing.

Who is Your Target Audience?

target market imageIt’s smart to actually visualize who your readers are going to be. Target your prospective customers. Try to construct an about us page that is geared towards this focus market. Give them the “impression” that they “accidentally” found you.

Just as any other form of media is designed with the viewers in mind, your about us page should speak the language of your visitors.

Get Personal

personal imageGetting someone to write the about us page for you may not actually work in your favor because it might come off as sounding stiff and insincere.

Why? Because most probably he will be using the second person’s point of view.

Besides, no one knows what you do or your business better than YOU. So, sit down and start constructing what you want your visitors to know.

Use a conversational and friendly tone, this will attract readers better than by using a corporate type tone. Speak with passion about what your mission is. Always be sincere and imagine addressing just a single reader – in short be personal.

Describe your Values

values imageYour values will immediately inform readers if you are worth doing business with – not just your skills and experiences.

Explain your values. Moreover, if you have a charitable fund drive in your business, mentioned it here as well.

Mentioning it here means this is NOT just all about making yourself filthy rich but that you actually have a program for your corporate social responsibility.

An about us page is your readers’ peek into THE REAL you,  so make it count. There it is, when constructing your about us page, it pays to consider all these factors.

marketing planThis would always result to falling into a pitfall and you know what’s even worse? I’d fall over and over into the same ditch time and again.

It’s definitely easy to mess up and get lost into messing up again and again.

Thankfully I was able to rectify my mistakes and was able launched a more streamlined and effective social media marketing campaign.

Now I’ll be sharing the mistakes I did before in the hope that you’ll steer clear of them.

Focusing on Number of Followers

followersTry to target connections that will be beneficial to your business. It’s them you want to focus on anyway.

Don’t just click and connect.

Be forward-looking. Connect with those that you can do business with in the future.

Irregular Posting of Unrelated Content

More than 170million people buy product online every year. Posting unrelated content without irregularity will only leave you in the dust and in the dark. Moreover you can actually even lose your followers this way.

Forgetting to Convert Followers into Paying Customers

conversionDid you know that roughly around 12 percent of total social media viewers that encounter your ads are likely to buy?

A highly shared post means nothing if it’s not asking viewers to make the sale.

 No Strategy

Operating an online business without any social media strategy is like fighting a battle with one hand tied behind your back. I can’t overemphasize the importance of having an active social media marketing campaign.

Spamming

Self-explanatory I suppose? Spamming is really not a strategy anyway. It’s more akin to being a nuisance.

Announcing the Same Message on Multiple Channels

multiple channelsMuch like having your own branding concepts, different platforms have their own distinct way of getting the message across their respective community.

If you want to be effective on this, then learn how each platform execute theirs.

You might piss off your most loyal followers having multiple channels if they see the same exact message promoted across multiple channels don’t you think?

Brand Has no Personality

brand personalityWhether you have a smiling clown, or an old man with a mustache that defines your brand, still your brand has to have its personality.

This will separate you from the “faceless, lifeless and bland crowd”. A logo or a symbol will instantly inform your viewers who you are and what your business is all about.

Social Media Marketing anyone?

Hi there!

There’s currently a new trend that is the toast of the town lately and it being utilized to the fullest by online marketers, it’s called Social media marketing or (SMM).

This marketing technique uses social marketing sites such as Facebook or Twitter and many others as an avenue for its marketing campaign.

The goal of SMM is to produce content that users will share with their online community to help an organization increase brand visibility and extend client reach.

Social Media Marketing Elements

SMO

One of the key elements of SMM is Social Media Optimization (SMO). Like search engine optimization (SEO), SMO is a strategy for illustrating new and unique visitors to a website.

SMO can be done two ways: including social media links to written content, such as RSS feeds and sharing buttons — or advertising activity through social media by upgrading statuses or tweets posts, or blog posts.

SMM helps a business get direct reviews from clients (and potential customers) while making the company seem more friendly.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

The entertaining parts of social media give clients the opportunity to ask questions or talk problems and feel they are being heard. This aspect of SMM is called social customer relationship management.  (Social CRM).

SMM became more common with the increased popularity of social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook or mySpace, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

In relation to this, the Federal Trade Percentage (FTC) has modified its guidelines to include SMM.

If an organization or its marketing agency provides a blog writer or other internet commenter with free products or other rewards to generate positive hype for a product, the internet feedback will be handled lawfully as recommendations.

Both the blogger and the organization will be attributed for guaranteeing that the rewards are clearly and plainly revealed, and that the blogger’s material contain no deceiving or unverified claims and otherwise is in accordance with the FTC’s guidelines concerning unjust or deceptive marketing.

If you haven’t used social media marketing as another possible effective approach to get the word out on your business, then why not give it a spin and see where it leads you.

Effective Marketing Using Social Media

Hi there!

Social media marketing is another avenue you can explore that will yield favorable results to your marketing.

First off, let’s discuss what social media is.

Social media symbolizes low-cost resource that is used to merge technological innovation and public connections with the use of words.social media

These resources are generally internet or mobile device centered.

A few that you have probably aware of are Tweeter, Facebook or MySpace and YouTube.

Why use Social Media?

Build Connections

connectionsSocial media gives marketers a way to connect with colleagues, clients and prospective clients.

It personalizes the “brand” and allows you to distribute your concept in a comfortable and conversational way.

It’s a must that social media be a part of your everyday life to be able to keep the strength and interest you need for it to be effective.

What part should it do in your marketing?

As most of you know my perspective of promotion is it’s a device we use to notify clients about our items, who we are and what we offer.

Social media does that. Here is how:

  • We can use social media to offer an identification to who we are and the items or solutions that we offer.
  • We can make connections using social media with individuals who might not otherwise know about our items or support or what our organizations signify.handshake
  • Social media makes us “real” to clients. If you want individuals to adhere to you don’t just discuss the newest item information, but discuss your character with them.
  • We can use social media to affiliate ourselves with our colleagues that may be providing the same focus on audience.
  • We can use social media to connect and offer the connections that clients look for.

As you can see social media provides with it a lot of value, but how do you do it right?

You can’t just rely on social media; you must incorporate it with other platform of your marketing.

While social media will make interest, I’m not assured that in the initial offing it will sell a million dollar worth of product.

That’s not to say that one day once you’ve set up your social media “stardom” that it won’t, but it probably won’t occur the next day.

  • Be yourself, reflect character. There are no published “right” or “wrong” guidelines when it comes to social networking, only you can determine what will work for you.be yourself
  • Be reliable, if you don’t plan on being reliable don’t do it at all – it’s a waste of everyone’s time.

Testimonials are numerous when it comes using social networking from headhunters that discover job candidates to new organizations that want to present a new item as well as already recognized Fortune 500 organizations that want to enhance their product.

The part of social networking in your promotion is to use it as an interaction device that makes you available to those enthusiastic about your item and makes you noticeable to those that don’t know your item.
