Affiliate marketing

Did you know that you can make money via online affiliate marketing programs?

YES you can.

These different programs can all be lucrative sources of earnings in one way or another.

But you must first understand that audience engagement is the key that jump-start the offers.

With affiliate marketing you get paid depending on the program that you wish to join. Usually what happens is that your readers click an affiliate link in your blog or website and if they buy an item or solution, you get paid! It’s that simple!

The action can range anywhere from simply buying an item or signing in for a newsletter, but regardless, you are not paid until you’ve convinced your readers to act, click the link or join the offer.

With that being said, here are some important affiliate marketing tips to consider.

Affiliate Marketing Tips

Be Relevant

be relevant image 2

Are you relevant?

Be relevant by knowing the latest offerings, services and solutions that is available from your affiliate program.

New ads and online solutions are usually being added for usability and visual appeal.

Changes, no matter how small, encourages action by your audience.

You don’t want to be left in the dark regarding the new affiliate offings right?

You need to always keep your eyes out for new fads and new possibilities within your program and your organization.

Content is ALWAYS number one

article marketing content

Content is TOP priority!

Your website’s content is still your greatest priority. Content is everything, it forms the very core of your online marketing existence.

Make no mistake about it, without useful, timely and relevant content, you will have no audience and you will cease to “exist”.

You need to put your efforts into providing superb content if you want to attract site traffic.

Never ever try to write affiliate marketing content solefy for the purpose of promoting your affiliate programs. This will alienate some of your core fanbase and you will lose some precious traffic this way.

The best way to use any affiliate marketing program blog-wise is to always anticipate what you’re readers are thinking and looking for.

Think of it this way, what makes visitors come to your site in the first place? Is it because of your contents? Or the affiliate marketing links? What are you giving out that they find attractive?

Be sure that the affiliate products you are promoting is the stuff that they are looking for. If your affiliate programs are relevant and helpful then you have just bridge the gap between visitors to clients.

Be Extra Helpful

affiliate marketing image 3

Offer help!

Some additional sources of valuable information are thru affiliate ads that help harmonize your content.

Give that extra weight to your post by making it useful, relevant, and helpful as much as you can.

It is prudent to talk about a specific product, and use affiliate advertisements to direct them in the right direction if they choose to act upon the information that you have provided. That’s what affiliate marketing advertisements are for.

3 Reasons Why Quizzes are Good Marketing Strategy

Hey everyone!

Quizzes image 1

Take the quiz!

One effective way to take advantage of people’s interest and their penchant for defining themselves is by using quizzes.

This is the reason why you see a lot of quizzes posted on your social media networks.

The result may not be 100% scientific, but they offer a lot of entertainment value for the taker plus more importantly, you’d get an insight into his personality.

This undeniable popularity of quizzes should be taken into serious consideration when formulating your marketing strategy.

Let’s face it, people love taking and sharing these entertaining quizzes with their friends, so the wise marketer can also use them as lead generation tool.

Quizzes are Good Marketing Strategy

They are irresistible

quizzes image 2According to Buzzsumo, “the top shared quiz over the last 12 months was ‘What colour is your aura’, with nearly 4 million shares.

“The top 5 quizzes in the last 12 months all had well above 1.5 million shares.”

By employing quizzes, you are in fact giving your audience a chance to learn something interesting about themselves.

This can in turn generate sharing by having them grab that opportunity to start a conversation with their friends. This quality is unique to quizzes.

They are Shareable

quizzes image 3

hit like and share!

One good way to start a conversation with your friends is by sharing quizzes results to them.

Christine Whelan, a sociologist at the University of Wisconsin, echoed this sentiment to NBC News.

“These personality quizzes, at their best, are conversation starters, and give you a shared language to discuss things that are meaningful for you,” Whelan said.

Results get shared because people are eager to let their friends take the same quiz and they could in turn compare notes.

They are always going viral

quizzes image 4

viral!

One particular quiz that comes to mind regarding this ability of quizzes to go viral is the “what colour is this dress that became insanely popular some months back.

It was shared so many times it even got extra mileage on the evening news!

3 Reasons to Include Numbers in your Article

“There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.”—Mark Twain

Hey everyone!

article marketing image 1

numbers are powerful

Numbers are powerful. When talk is cheap, numbers provide the value.

Numbers will close any arguments faster than the wittiest mind out there.

So when crafting any write up, it is of great importance to back your claims with figures and numbers.

I’ve come up with 3 great reasons why to include numbers or numerical data or statistics in your articles.

Read on:

Always Include Numbers

Provides concrete and solid figures to back up your claim

article marketing image 2

concrete data

77% of market survey conducted reports that readers are more likely to agree and believe in a “general fact” if it is supported by numerical figures.

Let’s face it, numbers have the power to add that necessary “fact” to back up the words you use.

Numbers are magical. Sure you can argue with the stated numbers but only in relation to the “quantity” not the actual established data.

Shows clear data

article marketing image 3

Provides valuable insights

Data reporting is always a crucial piece of information that every bloggers should incorporate into their blogs to give weight and credence.

55% of bloggers believe that including figures and numbers in their blogs increases their chance of being viewed and bookmarked.

This fact is according to a recent Hub spot article published in 2009.

Words alone can be subjected to a lot of scrutiny and debates, but when you add numbers to those words they become powerful.

Take this statement for example : There are a lot of coffee drinkers in the USA.

The statement can be truth but it lacks that added punch to make it a powerful statement. But when you add numbers, it instantly takes a life of its own. Just like with this –

54% of American over the age of 18 drinks coffee everyday.

The second statement is better crafted and has more weight in its information because of the numbers.

Numerical data instantly eradicates uncertainty

article marketing image 4

removes uncertainty

Another clear advantage to having numerical data in your article is that it instantly removes any shadow of doubt in a piece of informative article.

An article loaded with statistics will always appear “substantial.”

The correlation between numbers and facts is a strong indication of a reliable and information-rich write up.

Numbers means statistics, parameters, charts, graphs and all that mathematics related data gathering system.

This data is always an invitation to those smart readers who are looking for figures to back their info gathering as well or even better – market research.

So the next time you want to craft your write up, do your homework and then support all your findings with the the necessary numerical data!

3 Reasons Why Use the Hello Bar

Hey everyone!

As promised in my last write up, I present you – the hello bar! So the basic question to ask is what is the Hello bar anyway?

hello bar image 1According to their official site, the hello bar is an unobstructed little banner advertising on your website on just about whatever you want.

Its easy to insert, definitely not annoying and best of all, it’s not a POP UP.

So how do you squeeze this little snippet of codes into your write ups without pissing off your readers in the process?

Here are the 3 main reasons:

The Hello Bar

Build Your Subscribers Faster

hello bar image 2For websites that sell their wares on line, getting visitors to subscribe to listings like email or even newsletter is where the real cash is.

By getting more members to your emailing list or newsletter, you are able to advertise special offers, activities, and new services to them.

This is where the Hello bar comes very handy, with it, you can remind your readers the benefits of being on your list almost anywhere within your article without the hassle associated with those pop-ups.

You can focus attention on your best articles

hello bar image 3Adding the Hello Bar (which is not a widget by the way) in any part of your article will immediately inform your readers on which are your best articles without them having to navigate your site or use the search box.

“With the Hello Bar’s ability to adjust the colour, you can make it a near permanent portion of your website with matching colours or you could use a contrasting colour to really call attention to the content.” – Inbound Authority blog site

You can even make use of this nifty little gadget to drive your internal advertising campaign! This way, you are effectively driving more traffic to the interior portions of your site, especially those parts where there’s a bad site structure where the content isn’t linked to from your homepage or even other pages for that matter.

Promote Your Branding & Social Media Accounts

hello bar image 4Most if not all websites place their social media accounts links at the bottom of the page.
“Scroll data suggests that 22% of visitors to a website actually make it all the way to the bottom.” – clic<tale blog site.

Well you can say goodbye to this format, with the Hello Bar, you can customise your social media icons to be located on top of your home page every time.

This will drastically improve your social media accounts’ click through and follow rate!

There is still a lot of great reasons on why you should start using the hello bar, but I’ll leave the rest of the research back to you.

Let’s make money now! Use the internet to generate easy money!

3 Reasons Why You Don’t Need Pop-ups

Hi everyone!

pop ups image 1Pop ups can be loosely defined as the boxes that appear after you have spent a few minutes reading a write up on a website.

Call them Opt-in popups or even modals, pop ups are not by themselves a clever marketing strategy, but more like marketing tricks!

They may work for sometime but over the course of time, they are really bad for your brand, your name and even your product.

Here’s the main reasons as to why you don’t need pop ups on your website.

3 Reasons not to use Pop ups

They are Annoying

pop ups image 2Let’s face it, you’re reading an informative post trying to get all the juicy stuff in when a pop up appears in front of you..BAM!

When this happens, instead of rewarding that site with my email address (as prompted by the pop-up), what I do is that I quickly close the tab and go somewhere else on the net.

Granting it’s a marketing trick still it’s a bad one. The Nielsen Group recently posted a write up about a survey they conducted on which is the most hated form of on line marketing technique, the verdict? Pop up tops the list.

They are not mobile-friendly

As smartphones become our daily companion, we get dissatisfied and frustrated with pop-ups. Since the screen of these handheld devices are smaller, the pop-ups are more intrusive and harder to get rid of.

Here’s a pop up on a mobile phone’s screen.

pop up 3

The advertisement occupies the whole screen, effectively blocking the info that I’m after.

And if I can’t get the info that I’m after, then I have to look elsewhere.

A pop-up act as a barrier making the loading of certain mobile website longer.

Pop up implies you are untrustworthy and Cheap

“Using pop-ups makes businesses seem untrustworthy because they’re relying on a cheap trick to gain subscribers.” – Emma Siemasko

pop up image 4It’s better if you can put must-read insights that will convince your readers to sign up for more. If what you give has great value, then people will find a way to stay connected.

You must be asking since pop ups are bad, what can we use instead?

There is a lot of options out there and hopefully will get those out in the open as we roll along, but one alternative that stands out, at least for me right now is the HELLO BAR.

Will discuss that on the next article!

5 Tips on How to Stay Ahead of the Pack

Hi everyone!

competition image 1How can you defend your position in the market whenever consumer spending slows down? How will you be able to stay competitive during those trying times?

Being able to effectively address these important questions will determine how you will survive a down trend or even an economic recession.

In a bid to answer this, I’ve compiled this killer list just for you.

Read on!

Stay Ahead of the Competition with this 5 Tips

Recognize the Competition

competition image 2Being able to know your competitors’ unique selling point (USP) will give you insights on what you need to improve and/or how you can leverage your product as against theirs.

Do a market research or survey to achieve this or if you can just simply compare what you offer as against them, this will give you a first hand information on what you should consider.

Know your Customers

competition image 3Economic conditions such as recession or inflation can drastically affect customers’ market behaviour.

It’s important that you are able to recognize these determinants.

Are your customers after cheaper products? latest products? Flexible service? Extra service?

This entails a bit of market research to be able to come up with an effective solution.

Once you have an idea what these factors are, you can then adjust or revise your marketing strategy to address these.

Leverage your Uniqueness

competition image 4Give your customers good reasons on why they should come to you and not your rivals.

Make sure that your USP is evident and obvious so that they can tell right away what makes you stand out.

Do you offer extra service like free delivery? Does your product comes with something extra? Customers are always after on where they can get the most out of their hard earned cash.

Double your Efforts

competition image 5Spruce up your marketing campaign so that you can reach more people to tell who you are, what you sell and why they should come to you.

This campaign need not be expensive. You just have to reach more people.

You can distribute flyers and leaflets to execute this. You can also use your local community billboard to post your marketing ad.

Tidy up your Image

competition image 6You can also try to move things around if you have a physical store.

You know move a shelf here, there. The rationale behind this is that customers associate “new look” with freshness, invigorating their desire to patronize you all over again.

If you have a website, you can also experiment with different themes and colours.

If you’re handling out business card, take a second look to see what you can improve on. Even a simple colour change can drastically alter customers market behaviour.

Are you sending a positive vibe?

Hi everyone!

positive vibes image 1Did you know that it is very important that we send a positive vibe to our readers?

We might not be really aware of it, but our readers can read between the lines most of the time.

They are ever discerning and wise enough to “feel” the vibes through the “unwritten codes” in our articles. These signals can either turn them on to us or ward them off.

It’s as simple as that.

As a sensible online marketer, I found it effective to have a positive mindset as I compose the articles that you read here.

positive vibes image 2I don’t know how much you believe or if you even believe in the so-called law of attraction, but for me, interestingly enough, if I start my day feeling positive and thinking positive, things are going to fall where they should be – on the positive side.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking that this is some mambo-jumbo voodoo type thingy, no! believe you me it transcends beyond the material world.

I’m not going to discuss the law of attraction, not in this article anyway. I just want to offer what I experienced to be effective, real and true.

So, how do you send a positive vibe?

Here’s my take, hope you learn a thing or two.

Sending Positive vibe the easy way

Start your week right

weekI know what you’re going to say “yeah that’s easy for you to say”. I can already hear the boom-town Rats singing “I don’t like Monday” or Jane Weidlin’s “Manic Monday” playing in the background – BUT it doesn’t have to be that way.

You have a CHOICE to either start it right or otherwise. One effective thing I do every Monday, especially in the office is I try to do those MOST important tasks first.

Whether these are bills or answering emails or writing an article, I make it a point to not overwhelm myself during Mondays.

Avoid the Busy Bee Syndrome

busy beeJust getting through every day routines can make anyone appear active. But that’s not progress. Set goals and keep yourself accountable for the results.

Make it a point that the results matter and that they can be seen and experienced by others and useful to you.

Get your act together

Be organized. Being a scatterbrain will not get things done. Being disorganized is a malady that won’t sit well with any business organization. Get your act together. Be steadfast in all your tasks. Don’t procrastinate.

Recognize Real-Time Success

successDon’t get caught up in the future that you fail to recognize what’s happening now.

Employees don’t need applause at every turn, but they do need to know that you can be pleased, and that they aren’t just pawns that are easily dispensable.

Sending a positive vibes is not difficult BUT it is important. It can make or break your day. It can determine whether you are going to increase your connections or turn off a-many.

If you can follow these simple steps, then I assure you that you are going to send a positive vibe!

Higher visibility will mean more chances of your brand getting discovered and seen. This will further result in increased visitors, increased visitors will mean increased leads and increased leads will mean increased sales!

If it’s not then you need to consider the following tips below:

3 SEO Friendly Site Tips

Loaded with useful information

SEO friendly image 2Always provide high quality content on every page of your website, most especially the home page.

This is of highest priority.

When your pages contain high quality contents, they will attract a lot of readers and even entice web master to link to your site.

(Wow can you imagine that? Mr Google web master himself will reference your site!)

“In creating a helpful, information-rich site, write pages that clearly and accurately describe your topic. Think about the words users would type to find your pages and include those words on your site.”– Web master

Build Links

SEO friendly image 3Links are important parameters for measuring your site’s SEO “friendliness”.  They basically helps Google’s crawlers locate your site and actually gives it greater overall visibility in search engine results.

It’s best to grow natural links. This translates to endless hours of work but will prove valuable in the end.

Links work because they give “weight” or importance to your site. This happens  when readers link to your website or the other way around. Both of the “linkee” and “linker” benefits from the linking.

“Natural links to your site develop as part of the dynamic nature of the web when other sites find your content valuable and think it would be helpful for their visitors. Only natural links are useful for the indexing and ranking of your site.” – Google Web master

Easy to access site

SEO friendly image 4Check to see if your site contains logical link structure. There should be link in every page that will enable your searcher to reach the next page.

If this sounds unfamiliar to you then hire someone who can explain this in simple terms.

Blog Commenting 101

Hi everyone!

One way to properly increase brand awareness, create additional inbound links and drive traffic to your site is through blog commenting.

blog commenting image 1If executed correctly, blog commenting can generate favourable results for you. (Especially when you do the commenting on authority sites.)

In my ongoing effort to increase your marketing awareness, I’ve listed down some basic blog commenting do’s and don’ts.

Here’s my take and hope you can learn a thing or two from it. Read on!

Blog Commenting Etiquettes

Some shrewd on-line marketers will always grab the opportunity to comment on a blog site because they want to add their own link (usually their site or solution) in the comment that they are posting.

Can You Post Comments with Links?

Is this an acceptable method when doing blog commenting?

blog commenting image 2One main reason as to why marketers would want to leave a comment with a hyper link in it is because they want to generate a back link.

This back link usually leads to their site or sometimes even to a landing page.

While this practice can be frowned upon, still if approved by the blog site administrator, it’s  an excellent way to get a lot of views for your brand.

While there is a lot of value to be enjoyed whenever a blog comment with a hyper link is approved by a high authority site, still it’s inappropriate especially if it’s a “link-bait and switch” type strategy.

Let’s not forget that blog commenting is all about giving your personal or professional take on the subject at hand.

It’s a proven practice that you should leave a comment in respect to the material mentioned, meaning the comment should be relevant.

If you were to add a hyper link in your blog comment, then it should offer value and be related to the topic of the blog.

Here’s a good example of how blog commenting should be done.

This is taken from a blog in Product.com blog.

3 key elements of a quality blog comment

Use an Avatar

blog commenting image 3Whenever possible, have a Gravatar or info image embedded every time you do blog commenting.

This will prove that you are a “real-and-alive” living individual and not just a robot or a pigment of some shrewd marketers or black hat ops imagination.

Use your Real Name

blog commenting image 4When commenting on a blog, there’s an option to either use your name or to stay anonymous,

it’s a proven effective practice to use your real name and if you are asked for an email or website in the comment form, add them as well.

Never use a keyword that you are trying to haggle for

This is a clear signal of  spamming. Leave a comment that offers actual value. Likewise, please don’t ever, ever use the comment box to introduce yourself or your brand.

Time and time again we see a lot of comments that take 10-15 seconds to read!  These are obviously just for self-promotion and are geared to get a back link to their brand.

Give real value every time you blog comment and in time you’ll see your connection grow. Why? because people will notice that you know your stuff and this will lead them to seek you out.

That’s all it takes!

Now, can you start commenting on my blogs?

3 Killer Blogging Tips

Hi everyone!

blogging image 1I think it’s plain to see that blogging has been around the longest time, so one might wonder is there anything else that is new to it?

To answer this, I keyed in a query into Google hoping to find an unturned stone or an unread piece of parchment that will give me an amazing insight into blogging’s  unexplored  territory.

Too bad the result came back Nada – zero. So instead of looking for virgin terra firma, I came up with these cool blogging tips that you can use every so often to make your articles read better, look better and definitely rank better!

3 Killer Blogging Tips

Searcher Friendly Site

blogging image 2Okay you might say “hey this isn’t about writing an actual article?!” Yes, you are correct. But remember the age old adage that “first impression lasts” ?

Having a searcher friendly site will promote a lasting good experience for first-time visitors. Have you considered how your site’s navigation is?

Is your site’s colour scheme renders smoothly to the eyes? Or are you using flashing and totally obnoxious colour scheme?

Write new materials regularly

blogging image 3Your readers will always be looking for fresh content to satisfy their knowledge quest.

Fill their voracious appetite by writing new content regularly.

Posting new content once a week is okay for as long as it is relevant and full of information.

Fresh content plays an integral  part in improving your search engine results ranking – this according to recent developments in Google+ local places

Site content hierarchy

web marketing contentAlthough some blogging platforms offer static first page option, still, I would recommend structuring your site’s content like this – the freshest content should always be on the first page.

And since we are on the topic of blog structure, it does not hurt to use suitable and uniform font type when writing your articles.

Also try to write your blogs using not fewer than 300 but not more than 600 words always. You don’t want to bore your readers to death by writing a novel but you don’t want to write too short and skip out a large amount of details in the process.

Blogging is a great way to express yourself. It is also be a proven way to make money. Whatever the reason you have for blogging , it is here to stay.
