This section should be about YOU, not about your brand.

This should highlight everything about you that would make people want to connect with you.

Create an Accurate Advert via Your Headline

You can take advantage of this heading by letting your connection know what you can offer and what you can do.  Keep it simple and brief but loaded with a lot of punch.

Be Single-mindedly clear

Unlike other social media networking site, LinkedIn is all about building your PROFESSIONAL connection. So it’s really important that you make this clear right away with what you load into your profile.

Skill Set

It is also imperative that you list your skill. A LinkedIn profile without a skill set is like a car without fuel.

It wouldn’t go anywhere.

Besides, I’ll ask you this simple question, will you connect with someone that you don’t have a clue about what they actually do?

Post Statuses

You need to be visible to be relevant. Posting statuses on a regular basis keeps your connection well aware of your online presence. This is of paramount importance. YOU need to be relevant. Don’t forget to hashtag part of the update in to your Twitter account for that extra wallop and sauce.

Get people in your network to endorse your skills. This way, viewers will see what you are really about.

Although not 100% fool proof, still, I’d get an endorsement anytime. It beats self-promotion by a mile.

Add Media

You can make your profile more interesting by adding different types of media. Include videos, photos and links every now and then to make it more visible as well.
